Bridge to Terabithia

by Katherine Patterson

This was a book I had read in college for class and loved it!  It is all about an unlikely friendship between a boy and the new girl in town.  The two have completely different family lives, yet still get along so well.  They create this fantasyland in the woods called "Terabithia" and develop all sorts of creatures and events.  This book also deals with real life and the relationships students have with each other and how close they can get as friends so quickly.  This is a tear-jerker near the end and a box of tissues may need to be at hand for the faint of heart!  It reminded me a lot of my childhood where I was friends with the girls and boys alike and we used our imagination to explore the forested world around us.
