by Julie Dannenberg
Illustrated by John Shelley
Charlesbridge, 2009
Mary lives in a frontier town in Colorado. Her father has a mining accident and cannot do much. Mary tries to pull dad out of his blues so they can be a family again. This was recommended for ages 8-11, and is 112 pages long. It has very simple ink illustrations, but seems like a very sweet story about overcoming your disability and rolling with it.
