How I Learned Geography

by Uri Shulevitz
Farrar Straus Giroux Publishers, 2008
This a Caldecott Honor Book. It is about Uri's childhood memories from World War II during the Warsaw Blitz of 1939. His family fled to Kazakhstan where the food was scarce. His dad bought a map and Uri "traveled" the world. There was not as much depth to this book as I was expecting. However, it did show how he used his imagination.
