Most stories talk about Robert E. Peary's discovery of the North Pole. This tells of his long-time, African-American partner Matthew Henson, who discovered the North Pole by his side. This talks about how the Inuit people were of great assistance on their seventeen-year quest. I believe actual journal entries are on some of the pages along with the text. At the end of the book, there is a time-line from 1886-1909. There are also book and website resources for further research.
